Jan. 15--The Heat's offensive production from centers Joel Anthony and Jamaal Magloire is hardly overwhelming.
Anthony entered Wednesday's game against the Bucks averaging 2.9 points and Magloire is averaging 1.2 points. But coach Erik Spoelstra said he believes the two defensive-minded players will produce more as the team's offense evolves this season.
"Is it necessarily conventional, where we're a post-up [team] with a center? No, probably not." Spoelstra said. "How many teams are?"
The Heat also uses Udonis Haslem at center, including in Wednesday's game.
GREEN LIGHT FOR QUINN
Spoelstra is encouraged by Chris Quinn's play recently but would like his backup point guard to be more aggressive offensively.
"It seems like every talk I have with him, I [tell him] I want him to be aggressive," Spoelstra said. "He's got a green light as much as any player on our team."
Quinn said he understands why Spoelstra harps on him because "I play better when I'm aggressive."
Heat swingman James Jones was icing his right foot before Wednesday's game and said it felt sore.
He inadvertently stepped on Minnesota swingman Mike Miller's foot in the second quarter of Tuesday's game.
NO DEBUT FOR D. JONES
Former Heat guard Damon Jones landed in Milwaukee as part of a three-team trade that sent Mo Williams to Cleveland. But Jones has yet to make his debut.
He was inactive Wednesday against the Heat.
Jones joined Milwaukee in late December after he refused to report to the Bucks following his trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"Right now, he's working to get in as good as of Basketball condition as he needs to be in," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said.
Jones is his second tour with the Bucks. He played in all 82 of their games during the 2003-04 season.
