Luke Ridnour is hardly an imposing figure. While he's 6-foot-2, he weighs only 175 pounds. He'll never be confused with a bodybuilder. Yet, there are few tougher players in the NBA than Ridnour. Just ask his teammates and coaches.
They'll tell you how Ridnour has admirably played through some painful injuries last season and this season. Ridnour, now in his seventh pro season, currently has a dislocated left elbow, a sore lower back and a bothersome hamstring.
It's no wonder that his teammates call him "Soldier."
"There are a lot of guys in this league who wouldn't be playing," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles, referring to Ridnour's situation.
Added Bucks assistant coach Kelvin Sampson: "I'd walk down a dark alley with Luke Ridnour. He's one tough guy. He's an unbelievable teammate."
BUCKS 108, TRAIL BLAZERS 101 (2OT): Reserve point guard Luke Ridnour came up big for the Bucks in the second overtime Saturday night at the Bradley Center.
