As the season winds down, the Bucks are taking a long, hard look at Joe Alexander.
After hardly playing any significant minutes for most of the season, Alexander, the Bucks' top draft choice, is suddenly getting sizeable minutes. Alexander has averaged 20.4 minutes in his last five games, almost double his season average of 11.6 minutes. In the last three games, Alexander played 23 minutes against the Lakers, 28 minutes against the Nets and 25 minutes against the Magic. The 6-foot-8 Alexander, who was the eighth overall pick in last summer's NBA draft, has made the most of his increased playing time. He's averaged almost nine points during that span, including a 16-point performance against the Nets.
LAKERS 104, BUCKS 98: The Bucks' already slim playoff hopes became even slimmer with their loss to the Lakers Wednesday night at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. The Bucks fell to 32-44 -- four games behind the eighth-place Bulls. What's more, the Bulls have the tie-breaker against the Bucks after taking their season series. The Bucks squandered a sensational performance by point guard Ramon Sessions. He finished with the first triple-double of his NBA career: 16 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds in 35 minutes. The Bucks also got 29 points from Richard Jefferson. Kobe Bryant had eight of his 30 points in the final seven minutes to keep the Bucks at bay.
