Milwaukee Bucks Notes, Quotes 2008-09-12
--Former Bucks assistant coach Brian James is considered a strong candidate to replace Scott Williams as a Bucks' television analyst this season.

James, who is still living in Milwaukee, has done some television and radio work in the past. Williams recently took a similar TV gig with the Suns.

--The Bucks will play eight preseason games, including two in China against the Golden State Warriors. The Bucks will play the Warriors on Oct. 15 at Guangzhou and on Oct. 18 at Beijing.

Obviously, the schedule was done before the Bucks traded Chinese icon Yi Jianlian to the New Jersey Nets in late June.

--The Bucks' first regular-season game will be Oct. 28 against the Bulls in Chicago. It'll mark the return of current Bucks coach Scott Skiles, who had coached the Bulls before being fired last December.

--The Bucks have a new D-League affiliate: the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The change came after Oklahoma City purchased the Tulsa 66ers, the Bucks' former D-League affiliate. The Pistons and Pacers are also affiliated with Fort Wayne.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I really admired how he handled himself on the sidelines. I thought he was always under control on the sidelines. I liked how he handled the officials on the sidelines. He wasn't in their ears all the time and I think referees respect that. So when you have something to say to them, they are more willing to listen. I just liked his overall demeanor on the sidelines." -- Bucks GM John Hammond, on his hiring of Scott Skiles as head coach.
