Milwaukee Bucks Notes, Quotes 2009-10-31

Milwaukee Bucks Notes, Quotes 2009-10-31--Bucks general manager John Hammond has until Monday at 5 p.m. to decide whether to pick up the option year on Joe Alexander's contract. Alexander, the eighth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft, struggled as a rookie and missed all of the preseason after suffering a partially-torn hamstring. Alexander would earn $2.7 million next season if the Bucks opted to pick up the option.

--F Carlos Delfino, the Bucks' starting small forward, served his one-game suspension Friday night in the Bucks' reguar-season opener against the 76ers. Delfino was suspended for fighting with Pistons' F Austin Daye during a preseason game.

--F Hakim Warrick turned down more money from the 76ers to sign with the Bucks. Warrick, who got a one-year, $3 million deal from the Bucks, felt he would get more playing time with the Bucks than the 76ers.

--American Idol star Danny Gokey of Milwaukee will sing the national anthem at the Bucks' regular-season home opener Saturday night against the Pistons at the Bradley Center. Gokey is also expected to perform at halftime of the game.

--The Bucks were the last NBA team to open up the 2009-10 season. They hadn't played since their final preseason game last Friday in Milwaukee.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I probably save about $40,000. And who knows with the league? There might be a lockout in a couple of years. I'm saving my money." -- Rookie point guard Brandon Jennings, who'll make $2.1 million this season, on why he bought a $26,900 Ford Edge.
