--The Bucks made a qualifying offer to G Ramon Sessions and F Ersan Ilyasova, but not to F Charlie Villanueva, who will become an unrestricted free agent.
--Even before being chosen by the Bucks, Brandon Jennings already had a pretty good feel for Milwaukee. The young point guard spent three days in Milwaukee when he participated in the McDonald's High School All-American game last summer. He also spent two days in Milwaukee while working out for the Bucks prior to the draft. Jennings' impressions of Milwaukee? "Actually, when I first got to Milwaukee (for the McDonald's game), all I heard was that Milwaukee was really boring and it was terrible," Jennings said. "But I really got to see the town a bit when I came out there for the workouts those three days. Milwaukee's not a bad town. It's kind of laid-back: a lot of fishing, a lot of boats, a lot of water."
And Jennings is excited about doing one other thing.
"Now I get to go to a Green Bay Packers game," Jennings said. "I can't wait for that."
--Jodie Meeks, the Bucks' second-round pick in the NBA draft, has proved to be a high-volume scorer. Last season, at the University of Kentucky, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard averaged 23.7 points a game. He scored a school-record 54 points against Tennessee last season as a junior. But Bucks general manager John Hammond said Meeks is more than a one-dimensional player, calling him a "great defender"
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I think we got a special one. I really do. It's going to come out at the end, but the discussion (going into the draft) was which one of these guys (point guards) had the chance to be the very best. I don't know exactly how much time we're talking about, if we're talking about coming in and playing right away or a season or two or whatever. But at a certain point, one of these guys is going to be extra special. And our guy Jennings has a chance to be that." -- Bucks general manager John Hammond on how Bucks' top pick Brandon Jennings ranks among this year's crop of rookie point guards.
