Milwaukee Bucks Roster Report 2009-09-04
PLAYER NEWS:

--C Andrew Bogut is set to start light workouts. Bogut was sidelined in February and missed the final 31 games with a stress fracture in his lower back. Bogut hasn't had any serious contact drills in seven months, although he fully expects to be fit for the start of training camp in October.

--G Charlie Bell wrapped up his summer-long "Hey, Charlie! Do My Job!" series by putting in a few hours as a dairy farmer in the tiny town of Valders in northeast Wisconsin. Some of Bell's "other jobs" included being a cook at a Wendy's restaurant, working in a fiberglass tubing plant and being a postal carrier. Bell had proposed the idea of doing various jobs to the Bucks' public relations department. A contest was then held, and it drew more than 200 entries.

--G Roko Ukic was chosen the most valuable player of the Efes Pilsen World Cup after leading Croatia to the championship. Ukic, obtained in a trade with the Raptors this summer, scored 21 points in Croatia's 90-83 victory over Macedonia in the title game.

DRAFT PICKS:

Brandon Jennings, G, 6-1, Lottomatica Virtus Roma (Italy) (first round) -- Team officials are enamored with his upside and believe he has all the tools to eventually be a star player.

Jodie Meeks, G, 6-4, Kentucky (second round) -- Bucks general manager John Hammond said the team's scouting department had Meeks ranked considerably higher and never envisioned him falling to them in the second round, the 41st pick overall.
