Scoreboard
TODAY
Phoenix at New Orleans (7 p.m.). Two of the NBA's top point guards go toe-to-toe when Steve Nash and the Suns visit Chris Paul and the Hornets in a matchup of Western Conference title contenders.
Stars
Monday
-Dwyane Wade, Heat, had 37 points and 13 assists to help Miami pull off a wild 130-129 comeback win over Golden State in overtime.
-Emeka Okafor, Bobcats, had 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and 6-for-6 at the foul line and added 10 rebounds in a 100-90 win over Minnesota.
-Paul Pierce, Celtics, scored 17 of his 24 points in the third quarter and Boston beat Orlando 107-88 for its ninth straight victory.
Separate ways
Stephon Marbury was ordered to stay away from the New York Knicks while the team looks for a solution to its $21 million problem - one that has lingered since the preseason and was amplified last week when the team suspended Marbury for refusing to play and he retaliated with a series of inflammatory remarks about coach Mike D'Antoni. Marbury's future was "not resolved" during a meeting with team president Donnie Walsh at the Knicks' practice facility, according to the players' association attorney representing him. The sides will continue to talk, but Marbury won't be around in the meantime.
Still struggling
Jamal Crawford missed a running jumper at the overtime buzzer and sprawled himself on the court in frustration after Golden State dropped its seventh straight game, 130-129 to Miami. Crawford scored six of his 40 points in overtime and dished out seven assists, but the Warriors fell short in a game they had in their grasp until the waning moments. Crawford is winless since joining Golden State in a trade from New York on Nov. 21 that sent Al Harrington to the Knicks.
Looking healthy
Jason Richardson scored 25 points in another strong performance following arthroscopic knee surgery, helping Charlotte beat Minnesota 100-90. It was the third straight game of at least 21 points for Richardson since his return after sitting out seven contests following exploratory surgery on his right knee. He led an efficient offense that also featured Raymond Felton's 14 assists with only one turnover.
Snapped
The Magic had their four-game winning streak stopped with a 107-88 loss at Boston. Orlando had won six straight road games, one short of the club record set at the start of last season.
Sidelined
Houston star Tracy McGrady is expected to be out at least a week and his playing time will be restricted when he returns while he struggles with soreness in his left knee stemming from offseason surgery.
